Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is the\u00a0inflammation of the appendix<\/strong>\u00a0, a small sac-shaped organ in the junction of the large and small intestine and located in the lower right part of the abdomen.
\nAppendicitis\u00a0occurs when the appendix is \u200b\u200bblocked<\/strong>\u00a0by food, feces or other causes, such as a tumor.\u00a0This obstruction causes an infection and the consequent inflammation, that of not being controlled quickly can trigger a peritonitis (generalized abdominal infection)<\/p>\n

Symptom<\/strong><\/p>\n

Appendicitis can occur at any age, although it is more common in young people.
\nThe main symptom is abdominal pain.\u00a0At first it is located around the navel and is of a mild nature.Subsequently, the pain becomes more acute and moves to the lower right part of the abdomen.\u00a0Other symptoms that may accompany the pain are fever, tremors, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite, among others.<\/p>\n

Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0treatment of choice for appendicitis is surgery<\/strong>\u00a0to remove the appendix.\u00a0If it is done in the first moments of the disease, it has an excellent prognosis and a rapid recovery.
\nIf an early diagnosis<\/strong>\u00a0of appendicitis is not made, the disease can\u00a0lead<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0peritonitis<\/strong>\u00a0, a much more serious disease since it involves an infection of the abdominal cavity, with a longer evolution, which requires a more complex treatment and is usually Reserved forecast.<\/p>\n
