Gallbladder and bile ducts

Description

The main problem presented by the gallbladder and bile ducts are stones , commonly known as stones. The stones are hard deposits similar to rock crystals that form inside the gall bladder causing obstruction and inflammation. These calculations can be of variable size and number.

 Symptom

The symptoms of gallstones and other diseases of the bile ducts are varied. They can range from mildabdominal discomfort with heavy digestion to severe pain below the ribs   when biliary colic is occurring.Gallstones can trigger acute inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis) or, if the stones leave the gallbladder to the bile duct an acute pancreatitis or cholangitis (infection of the bile duct).

Treatment

The treatment of first choice is the removal of the damaged vesicle laparoscopically . People whose gallbladder has been removed can live a completely normal life without restrictions in the way of life or in the diet, since the body adapts to its new situation in a short time.
There are cases in which the patient’s conditions do not allow surgery and then a conservative treatment based on drugs is chosen.
If the stones are lodged in the bile duct , a special endoscopy called ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) is performed, which allows stones to be removed without the need for open surgery.
